With autumn upon us, we have been receiving more and more inquiries about Japanese dressmaking classes . Our Japanese dressmaking classes have no registration fee and can be attended as many times as you like, even just once. Many people participate in just one class, such as making an Azuma bag or attaching a half-collar, but some people take on the challenge of tailoring a yukata or hitoe kimono as their next step. In such cases, we recommend a cotton kimono. Enshu Cotton Tsumugi fabric is reasonably priced, starting at around 1,000 yen per meter (a roll of kimono fabric is usually around 13 meters). This time, with the cooperation of Ikenuma Ori Kobo Chiori, we will be holding an emergency order meeting for Enshu Cotton Tsumugi. This is an opportunity to check the texture and color of the fabric, so please feel free to pick it up and check it out for yourself.
You can order from 1m, so it is recommended not only for kimonos but also for making clothes, interior decoration, etc.

The fabric from Chiori's Pond and Marsh Weaving Studio will have a price revision starting in November.

Enshu cotton pongee by Ikenuma Ori Kobo Chiori is originally a reasonably priced fabric that is very useful when tailored.Even after the price increase, it is still a very affordable fabric, but if you are thinking of purchasing it for sewing kimonos or clothes, please contact us. If so, we recommend purchasing during October.
The samples we have this time are the plain Ajiro series, the Mizore series, which is a little thicker than the Ajiro series, and the Chiori stripe. Fabrics for which samples are available are listed in the online shop as fabrics that can be ordered.
We also have many fabrics that are not listed in our online shop that you can sample at our physical stores. The sample length varies from 40 cm to 1 meter, but you can check the thickness and color of the fabric. If you have a specific fabric in mind that you would like to see in person, we would appreciate it if you could contact the actual store via email or LINE to inquire if we have samples available before you visit.
