This is a masterpiece that luxuriously uses Enshu cotton pongee, a traditional textile that has been preserved since the Edo period in the Enshu region centered on Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
“Enshu Cotton Pongee” is mainly characterized by its striped pattern. Taking advantage of this, by dyeing the horizontal stripes in chūsen, the stripes of the original fabric and the chūzome border overlap, creating a completely different atmosphere and creating an interesting finish.
The retro-style stripes of the fabric alone have turned into such a cute and pop feeling.
