Saasaawa is a tailoring unit that creates yukatas and half-width sashes using traditional Japanese sewing techniques using African fabrics mainly from Ghana.Saasaawa means mix in the local Twi language. Like Edo Komon? Is this a pique pattern? Oh, this is batik...? If you look closely at the bright Ghanaian cloth, you will see familiar patterns here and there. I want to saasaawa this cloth and Japanese traditional. Each piece is made with care and care using reliable techniques.

These obis are unique, but they also go well with Japanese woven kimonos and dyed yukatas. Why not enjoy a more casual kimono life with a collaboration of African and Japanese traditional techniques?

Please read this before making a purchase.

As with Japanese Chusen dyeing, there may be uneven colors and prints when dyed. We hope you enjoy it as a taste of dyeing.

Before tailoring, the Japanese seamstress himself runs the garment through water to make sure there is no extreme discoloration, but there is a possibility that the discoloration may occur to some extent. Please be careful about the kimono you wear.

The color may fade if it gets wet. Please use dry cleaning for laundry.
